Trip Report: Corinthia Hotel London

Updated: Jul 2, 2021

The Corinthia Hotel in London exudes freshness and warmth through a combination of abundant natural light, airy spaces, and beautiful design elements. Located steps from the River Thames, it is a great location for exploring all that London has to offer.

I arrived before the scheduled check in time without having given the hotel advance warning of when I would show up, and was warmly greeted and taken to my Executive King Room.

My favorite thing about the space was the small entry that had a door to the room on one side, and a door to a large walk in closet on the other. I am a light sleeper and the ability to further close off my room made for absolute silence at night. Combined with the cozy bed and responsive HVAC system, I slept great! It truly is the little things that make hotel stays enjoyable.

The hotel has numerous places to eat and drink throughout the day; whether you want traditional afternoon tea, a five course meal, or simply a glass of champagne. As a person traveling alone on business I truly appreciated having a variety of options to dine or grab a quick drink when I wasn’t feeling up to going out by myself.

The staff even graciously accommodated me when I wanted to sit at the bar and order from a different restaurant. I was glad they did, because it was the best gnocchi I have ever eaten. Don’t miss the picture in the photo tour below!

The spa by ESPA is absolutely gorgeous. Although I did not have a treatment, I did visit to use the gym facilities which were clean and spacious. There were plenty of machines and lots of room for stretching and free weights. Complimentary towels, cold water, and fruit were also available. The space was so beautiful that it almost made my workout fun. Almost.

I loved being able to take an impromptu walk in the late afternoon along the Thames to see the slow burn of the sunset over London. The crisp wind helped to keep my jet lag at bay, and the photography opportunities were spectacular. You could feel the vibrancy of a city on the move.
