Trip Report: The WestHouse Hotel

Updated: Jul 2, 2021

Every January, Virtuoso advisors throughout the Northeast head to one of the luxury hotel capitals of the world, New York City for a regional meeting. This year I selected a brand new hotel as my residence for my two night stay, the WestHouse Hotel.

I usually have an aversion to new hotels. I want to stay at them because I am excited to experience something new, but I also don’t want to be let down by a bad stay. There was absolutely no cause for concern in regards to my stay at the WestHouse.

Although there are some facilities that are not yet open, such as the gym, the rooms are perfect and the staff is genuinely warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. Not an easy feat for a newly opened hotel!

I absolutely love the concept of the hotel, which offers a club lounge or residence in the city experience for each and every guest, included in the minimal daily Residence Fee (currently $30). The ability to get a quick bite for breakfast – yogurt parfait in a crystal double old-fashioned glass, flaky croissant, and pot of French press coffee – was perfect. In the evenings it was nice to have a pre-dinner glass of champagne or a cookie for a late night snack.

My room was quiet and comfortable. The complimentary Dean & DeLuca snacks were truly a treat. The high-end hair dryer and straight iron melted my heart. Such a small detail that makes a huge difference in feeling cared for during your stay. My favorite feature though was the cutout in the shower that enabled you to turn on the water and let it get warm, before getting in. Absolutely genius!
