A Christmas Market Tour of Germany

Christmas Market in Heidelberg
I am not known as being fond of cold weather (and I can be a bit “bah humbug” about Christmas), but I had only heard wonderful things about the Christmas Markets in Germany, so when I received an invitation to go for a week in December I knew I had to say yes.
My trip started with a short jet-lag recovery stay at Villa Kennedy, a Rocco Forte Hotel in Frankfurt. It’s a quick seven mile ride from the airport, and my room was perfect for catching up on much needed sleep.
We are members of the Sir Rocco’s Knights preferred partner program, and the hotel is also a Virtuoso preferred partner.

The next day I was picked up in a lovely Mercedes and driven rapidly to Baden-Baden, and my one night stay at the lovely Brenners Park Hotel & Spa, part of the Oetker Collection. I also had the opportunity to do a site inspection of the gorgeous sister property, Villa Stephanie.
We are a part of the Oetker Collection preferred partner program called Pearl. Plus, the hotel is also a Virtuoso preferred partner.

My next two nights were spent in the Black Forest at the lovely family owned and operated Hotel Traube Tonbach. If you are a foodie, this hotel needs no introduction. It is known worldwide for it’s culinary program in general, and specifically for Schwarzwaldstube, it has held three Michelin stars without interruption since 1992!

Our last two nights were spent in Heidelberg and we made a stop for lunch and a site inspection on the way at the lovely Hotel Erbprinz Ettlingen.

I loved my light bright room at Europäischer Hof Heidelberg. This is another family owned and operated hotel, and the hospitality is as warm and inviting as if you were visiting the home of a dear friend. A great base from which to explore Heidelberg.
