Trip Report: Faena Hotel Buenos Aires
Updated: Jul 8, 2021
If you are looking to be wowed by your hotel in Buenos Aires, then look no further than the Faena Hotel. This was the fourth and final hotel in my week long tour of Buenos Aires.
The hotel is located in the hot new neighborhood of Porto Madero, near great dining, parks, and the marina. The interior design was done by Philippe Starck and the hotel reflects his unmistakable modern playful touch.
I stayed for two nights in a Skyline View Room. The layout was unique with the bed on an angle in the middle of the room and the desk tucked behind the bed. The interior bathroom walls were made entirely of glass, with heavy red drapes available for those requiring a little privacy.
The hotel has a large gym facility, a small spa, and an outdoor pool. Of course, designed by Philippe Starck. My photo does not do it justice, and sadly it was not pool weather during my visit in June.
The Faena is also know for having one of my all-time favorite Virtuoso amenities – two complimentary tickets to their Rojo Tango show at El Cabaret. They do not allow anyone to take photographs during the performance, but I did sneak a quick picture of the menu. The show was every bit as melancholy and sexy as you would expect from a tango performance at the Faena.
The complimentary Virtuoso amenities for 2015 are as follows:
Upgrade at time of booking, subject to availability
Complimentary Wi-Fi
for duration of stay
Daily Buffet breakfast, for up to two in room guests
VIP Welcome Amenities
and a welcome drink
Early check-in/late check-out
subject to availability
Two complimentary tickets for Rojo Tango
(approximately $220 USD per person, excludes dinner)
My three takeaways:
Fabulous:
The food at El mercado is great and the hotel vibe is young and fresh.
Faux Pas:
The coffee mugs at breakfast need to be replaced as the coffee becomes instantly cold due to their large size.
FYI:
Book your Rojo Tango tickets in advance of your stay to ensure availability.
